The bicycle path, which passes through the canyon of the river Djetinja, along the former route of the narrow-gauge railway, is one of the most beautiful not only in Serbia but also in Europe, for which it was awarded by the European Green Trail Association.
The trail is especially interesting for recreationists because it is arranged in the length of 6 km to Staparska Banja and it can be used to reach Lake Vrutci on a macadam road, which is suitable for mountain bikes and for people who like to ride off the trails. There are, of course, sites worthy of attention, such as the Great Dam, Staparska Spa, and a Neolithic settlement, but also the area from Staparska Spa to Vrutci. The trail ends at the foot of the dam and the road leads by a macadam ascent to the dam itself and the crossing over it. You can continue to the main road Uzice – Bioska – Kremna – Visegrad and return to Uzice.
Cycling through the Djetinja gorge from the Old Hydroelectric Power Plant to the Staparska Banja site is an integral part of activities that promote healthy lifestyles, stay in a natural protected area, and reduce environmental pollution.
By the decision of the City of Uzice, the part of the route from Turica to Staparska Spa was closed for motor vehicle traffic from 8 am to 2 pm and from 3 pm to 9 pm, which made this part of the route a safe promenade and bicycle path.
